The Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyan. Mr. Bunyan was an English writer and a preacher. It’s believed that he wrote this book during his second imprisonment between 1660 – 1672. His imprisonment was for holding religious services of more than 5 people who were not family, which was outside the auspices of the established Church of England. This book has been translated into more than 200 languages, has never been out of print and is said to be the 2nd most read book after that of The Bible. The Pilgrim's Progress is a Christian allegory about a man whose name is Christian and his journey from his city, The City of Destruction (this world) to The Celestial City (that which is to come - heaven).
